Pros

Its amazing working with Swedes! Honest & lovely people. You get to say you work for "Volvo," which sounds impressive… until you actually start working here. Great brand name to put on your resume when you eventually leave.

Cons

Career Growth? What's That? You'll hear all the right buzzwords — "growth," "opportunities," "next level" — but it’s all just noise. Years will go by, and you'll still be doing the exact same thing, waiting for that mythical promotion that never comes. Appraisals That Feel Like Insults: Be prepared for hikes so low they’d make inflation laugh. Low single digits, if you're lucky. Meanwhile, you're expected to stretch yourself thin and "go the extra mile." On-Call Exploitation: Want to be on-call 24/7 for 2-3 weeks straight? Sure! Just don’t expect to be fairly compensated — you’ll get a grand total of ₹7.5k for your troubles. That’s it. No matter how much you work. But hey, the country leads get free Volvos while the company is dying, so someone’s winning. Cost-Cutting, But Only for the Plebs: Every rupee is squeezed when it comes to employees, but the upper Indian management continues to enjoy hikes, perks, and luxury like they’re running a premium club. It’s almost poetic, really — cost-cutting from the bottom up. Middle Management Masterclass: Ever seen someone lead a tech product they don’t understand? You will here. Engineering managers who couldn't explain the product they manage if their life depended on it — but they sure know how to attend meetings and make arbitrary decisions.

Pros

- Latest and greatest tech stack, - Work-life balance is good - The Swedes are genuinely nice! Pity that niceness doesn’t trickle down to the Indian management, who seem to have mastered the art of motivational ambiguity: “Better opportunities in 6 months.” Spoiler: Those 6 months are a recurring event.

Cons

- Career growth = Fairy tale. Stick around a few years and you’ll get... more promises! The classic “opportunity in 6 months” loop is alive and well—perfect if your goal is to retire in the same position you joined in. - Salary hikes that feel like April Fool's jokes. Increments so low, even service-based companies like TCS and Infosys seem charitable in comparison. If this is how a "premium" product company rewards performance, we can only imagine what they’d pay if we actually underperformed. - Cars Matter... just not your salary. During appraisal season, 7 brand-new Volvo cars were handed out to country leads—because apparently, that’s what matters. Meanwhile, we were told the company is going through “turbulent times” and there’s no budget for decent increments. What a coincidence. Even more amusing? The same folks who post every free muffin and plant giveaway on LinkedIn went radio silent about these cars. Guess "Cars Matter"—but only when it benefits the elite. - PX (People Experience) = Poor Experience. Want a simple HR query answered? Set an alarm for 2026. Weeks pass, seasons change, but PX responses remain a myth. We suggest renaming it to "People Exasperation." - Leadership at ITH: Truly inspirational—if you enjoy seeing clueless middle management contribute nothing while drawing fat paychecks. Honestly, CORE+ should start here. Let's optimize some real costs.
