-Unfair hiring process of managers - women who worked for the company for several years not even considered for managerial positions whilst men who had worked for the company for weeks given managerial positions for seemingly no reason. Of the ‘top performers’ in 2017, the majority of male top performers were given managerial positions yet not a single female member of this group was offered a similar position.
-Priority of paid work given to manager’s favourites e.g girlfriends, friends, new recruits. One new recruit even warned to ‘shag a manager or else you won’t get any shifts’. Employees who’d worked for the company long term, with previous experience in the jobs offered, told that there were no paid roles available while several new recruits were given these roles over the space of several months. The long term employees were told that they would need to ‘work harder at guestlisting’ to be eligible for paid shifts, despite clearly having scored more highly than the new recruits, and some having even won ‘top guestlister’ prizes previously.
-Employees being told to leave the company if unhappy, when asking for an explanation of how paid roles are assigned.
-Bullying of certain employees in the manager’s group chat/male employees only group chat.
-Open dismissal of potential female employees based on appearance.
