Unethical Owner Thinks People Are Disposable
Pros
employee discount on candy, nice co-workers (but not management), close to lots of choices at lunch (not that you have time to do a drive through an eat)
Cons
I worked there in 2016 and 2017. Since they have under 25 employees it's easy to see what's going on around you. And in the office and the warehouse there was a lot of turnover. They advertise that you get to work with the Party City founder in the job ad but most staff have little interaction with him which is probably good since he spends most of the time yelling, cussing and cutting you off. He hires everyone on as a temp for an undefined amount of time, so he pays half of what you should make as a professional, it's easier to let you go and you won't get any of the medical or other benefits. In the rare event he does actually bring you on as an employee, you are already starting way lower than the fair wage should be and you're not immune from getting canned for no apparent reason anyway. While there, there were over a dozen temps brought in and all but 3 were let go with no notice even while the workload was still heavy and needed people. And I was let go so he could pay someone else even less pennies than me. Totally unethical business practices. Its too bad becuase the worker-level employees are great to work with but the couple of managers make it miserable for everyone. The owners just care about themselves and how much money they will make and not about how much they make their employees overworked, tired and unhappy. also no where to grow, long hours and no life balance, culture of fear and hostility, only value is the bottom line
