      The only pro is that they do pay their staff, my salary was very decent, but some are paid way over for minor positions and some not enough, which is I suppose average for large companies.

      Cons

      I worked for them for 5 years and found them to be the worst company I have worked for.in 42 years. Their slogan of "its all about people" is totally misleading. It was well known that it should read "when it suits" . Worst management style I have known. Everyone is too busy trying to backstab each other. profit comes before people. Health and safety is all smoke and mirrors, and all a box ticking exercise. Nepotism is rife. Organised and run like they don't have a clue.

      Some good employee remuneration, allowances and benefits

      Very clicky . In the 7 years I worked for Wates, the epitome feeling insecure was apparent . But they have over the years build some good stuff and are cash rich. The company is overwhelmed with systems and overbearing higher management that constantly change and are confusing . Beware if over 60 or not in the club, as promotion may be overlooked. The work load on individuals can be exhaustive leading to failure
