Pros

Nice building with a popcorn machine. The people who work here make it enjoyable and the diversity of the people make it that much more great. A lot of support and shared service from an estabilished Student Loan company.  Recieved an extra bonus monthly for attendance and compliance.  A lot of my co- workers had some issues with the manager I was under, but I liked the way he managed the collections team. The only issue here was we would get thrown into different clients with little training from him, but I liked the way he motivated and was treated fairly by him.

Cons

The VP is a sales man and will sell you the job and make you feel important but his actions don’t match what he says. I was promised 1,000 dollar bonus checks and room for advancement. I asked the VP in june of 2016 when I can expect those things and I was told by the end of the year. It is now febuary of 2018 and my colleagues and I are getting about the same amount in bonuses, and see no room for advancement. They also talk about exciting things like an employee engagement team to help with morale, or a mentorship proram to train agents to move into manager positions, but there was very little follow up on this when I asked about it several times and these things never happened while I was there. A group of us were asked to come up with a list of concerns from agents and solutions to those concerns. We presented them to management as requested by them, and nothing got done. They say they care about increasing morale, and making Waypoint a place where people want to come into work, but when a list of issues were presented to the VP he didnt even care enough to write them down. I followed up with him twice after that meeting and the solution they came up with was to have a company wide meeting so everyone was on the same page. We set a date and management put it in their calendars, that day came and went and there was no meeting. I decided I could not spend anymore of my time trying to help in this way. The same list of concerns were brought up 3 times and it’s clear they really don’t care. I have also put in unpaid time making games for sales contests and helping out with handouts for new hires with little appreciation, and no follow up. Eventually they stopped including me in that process all together.
