Don't be fooled, this is a Zirmed company

Pros

Not a lot of pros working here - especially if you're not based in the Louisville office. Breakfast on Fridays in the Atlanta office. Just hope it's not Bojangles.

Cons

- Many things internally are still branded as Zirmed, including your paycheck. - There is favoritism shown towards legacy Zirmed employees. For example, more sales territory given to Zirmed based employees, only Zirmed people are allowed to talk in the general channel of slack - Lots of cut corners, including forcing employees to sign off on a 2015 Zirmed employee handbook - Forced culture - Bad HR. Issues brought to their attention are swept under the rug or conveniently forgotten about. - Inept management - especially in Sales Intelligence and Marketing. - Payroll is either swamped or does not care for their peers. Reimbursements are routinely late. Took nearly 2 months for a small approved reimbursement to get paid out for Navicure employees (Zirmed based were approved immediately). Any bonus or salary corrections are promised, but never delivered. - Career opportunities are vastly limited unless you're based out of the Louisville office. - Compensation and benefits used to be ok. Now you have a health insurance that is not accepted by many high end doctors, bonuses are a joke, 401k matching is nothing to get excited about. - No work/life balance - especially if you're an administrator of any platform. Expect to work overtime and all weekend with nothing to show for it than a high-five. - Senior management is more worried about pleasing Bain than understanding the actual processes that happen day to day and figuring out how to make those work within a reasonable timeline. - Most employees are $20k to $30k under market - Management more worried about "having fun" and rewarding the HR department rather than getting decisions made so employees can meet stressful deadlines. - IT department still grossly separated between "Zirmed" processes and "Navicure" processes - meaning you can't get help with malfunctioning programs/hardware unless it comes from your respective team. Good luck if your team is sick or on PTO.

Pros

-The hours are good. I can't recall too many times that I had to work more than 40/week. -On Friday's you can leave at 4pm if you are done with your work.

Cons

-Pay is far below market value for the majority of people. -Company refuses to give people fair, useful raises to compensate for the low wages. Many people have left to get a better wage. -The Company is now funded by Bain Capital, this is Mitt Romney's venture capitalist firm. They are shady and dirty. Google this: "Bain Capital death squads"". Would you want your paycheck coming from them? -There is no future with this company. Bain Capital's whole business is about finding broken companies, fixing them up and selling them off, part by part and turning a profit. It's happened before, it will happen again. -On the engineering side, there is a good ol' boys club at the top. If they like you, you'll get ahead. If they don't, your career will stagnate until you decide to leave the company. -The upper levels of engineering management are petty and untrustworthy, they will hold grudges about silly things and will stab you in the back if it suits them. -So. Many. Layoffs. -Communication is bad, management flat out lies. -The work is exceptionally boring. The company likes for you to learn your job and stay there. Don't try to move around to something else inside the company or want to better yourself professionally. -The healthcare coverage is bad and expensive. You'd probably do better getting a private policy, which is probably what they want, truth be told. -When you are interviewing, they will promise you just about anything to get you to sign on. Don't believe any of it. Not one person I knew while working there got anything they were promised during the interview phase. I certainly didn't. -The location is bad. On the edge of downtown and the ghetto. Once or twice we saw SWAT in the housing projects across the street. -If you don't live in downtown or nearby the office, you'll hate the traffic you have to deal with daily. -Turnover is high. Most of the good engineers have realized that there isn't a future and have left for better positions at other companies. Guess what is left working there? -There isn't much of a culture here. Don't buy if it someone tries to tell you otherwise. -After the Navicure merger they immediately took 1 week of vacation away from employees because "ZirMed was too generous with it".

Pros

While I worked there they appeared to be very employee focused, which compensated for the lower than average compensation.

Cons

I left Waystar due to a vague RTO plan, lower than average compensation, and limited opportunities to work with new technology. I thought I left on good terms, having had nothing but glowing reviews throughout my employment and receiving a strong counter-offer when they tried to retain me. As part of my exit interview I stated that my primary reason for leaving was compensation, but had they paid me what they counter offered I never would have even shopped around. I suggested they pay people what they are worth up front instead of waiting until they are leaving if they want to retain them. A year and a half later I was approached by a recruiter for the same type of role at Waystar at a more competitive salary and considered returning. The recruiter took my information to Waystar and was told that they couldn't even consider me. On paper, I'm the perfect candidate since I had done exactly this role just recently. Familiar with the tech stack, culture, everything. No onboarding necessary. But they wouldn't even talk to who they previously considered a "strong performer". Apparently blacklisted for giving constructive criticism about management. That place is a shell of what it used to be.
