Pros

-Discount on products -Friendly coworkers -Good skills to learn if you are willing to learn -Proper tools at hand -Flexibility on your scheduled if needed -Understandable when mistakes happen -In busy times, overtime is paid. -Good times, sometimes.

Cons

The management is very poorly: -You never know what time are you going home. -Is not understood by management that respect is earned not demanded. -There is a lack on leadership, management and communication skills from the managers. -The distribution of power is not clear therefore you don't know who you can take orders or instructions from. (If someone told you to do something but it was incorrect you are told "They are not your boss" added to this, if you do not take action you are told to ask to the people around you about it. Contradicting themselves. -Management openly whispers complains, gossips, prejudgments, opinions, problems, conflicts about others including coworkers to the employees, unconsciously allowing others to do the same. Which happened every day. Very toxic environment that causes constant stress on employees whom notice this, not knowing if it is about themselves or others. -They care more about costumers approval and the reputation of the company than employees well being (even though they keep repeating otherwise) -There is a huge lack of respect for the employees personal time; requests from clients will appear at the last minute and you are expected to do it. And if you don't (because your shift has ended and you need to leave to live your life) you are being reprehended telling you that "It needs to be done", no solutions, no trying to reconfigure the arrival and processes of orders so that it works for everyone, just that "It needs to be done" and "how can you guys make this work?" -When the times are very busy of work employees are encourage to work faster, smarter and cleaner but with no intention on hiring extra part time help to alleviate the pressure even when is clearly needed. -When there are conflicts between employees; consequence of the lack of leadership and communication from management, it is blame on the employees, as if they seek drama. Washing their hands from their lack or leadership, not taking any responsibility otherwise. - The job can get extremely overwhelming. -There can be +12 hours shift on busy times.

Pros

-Discount on cookies -Friendly coworkers (if they hire any for you to actually have any) -Closed on Sundays

Cons

Owner complains that “no one wants to work anymore” while running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off from stress trying to get things done—unable to see the disconnect in that thinking. The company once employed over 30 people but have since whittled down to less than 7. Unless two or more people are scheduled to work, you are left to help customers, stock the case, answer the phone to take orders, package wrap cookies in the back, run to the back to grab bags and boxes, assemble said boxes, and if you’re scheduled to close you’ll put cookies the bakers leave out in containers for the next day, clean up and wash dishes, which takes FOREVER because you have to cut the plastic from the piping bags off of every single piping tip. Holidays are a nightmare and often you are working alone (with the exception of mandatory Saturdays before a holiday where everyone is required to come in) and leave work exhausted. Sometimes owner/bakers will help restock while you assist customers, but they are mostly in the back rushing to bake and decorate more cookies due to the lack of staff.
