Pros
Very nice bunch of people, particularly the main lower level work force. Good social events, however these can be seen as a tactic to distract you from the pressure applied from the heavy workloads. However good company to gather experience from and move on.
Cons
Very very tiring. Very high work load. Basically too much work with too little engineers and technicians. Routine to be in the office after 6-7pm 2/3 times a week every week. trying to hit very unambitious deadlines. Small sweaty attic in the Centre of Glasgow with daily working temperatures over 26 degrees, very uncomfortable.

Pros
Very talented team. Access to a lot of valuable knowledge and experience. Diverse and varied workload with lots of learning opportunities. Directors are very approachable and supportive. Annual company retreat to the Crieff Hydro. Salary was very competitive.
Cons
Some projects are bid quite low to win the work, so time available to work on them is restricted. Company tends to stick to a traditional office approach - no flexible working or ability to work from home (pre-lockdown), and some minor office politics/bureaucracy. Edinburgh office is a renaissance town house conversion, so staff are segregated into different rooms, which feels quite insular within individual teams. With regards to being/becoming chartered, the company has a slight bias towards the IStructE, with no training agreement(s) for either the IStructE or the ICE.
