Pros

Free soda, lol...close to SD Airport if you want to get away. Other than that nothing else.

Cons

Very racist company. I was terminated on 10/30/2018 due to performance, in which I was confused because, I was closing loans and meeting my goal for the month which was 14 for the month. On 9/28/2018 I was preforming my daily process, reviewing new loans for initial underwriting review and taking care of closing findings. Mid-day I started to received a several of emails from closing cc'ing my processing manager known as JG, requesting for me to clear items needed for closing. Some were minor conditions such as upload a document in the correct field and some where servicer request such as invoices and confirmation of payments. So...my manager turned to me and said WOW, there picking on you today and I stated, I don't know why and his reply " I don't know if it's because your BLACK?", I felt very uncomfortable and just sat back down and continued to work. This wasn't reported because I really needed a job to support my family and afraid of retaliation. After the incident, it started to get worst and I start questioning prior events that tool place that made me think about the way I've was treat while employed at Veterans First Mortgage aka Wintrust in Little Italy. San Diego, CA. I've had a loan officer yelled at me in front of my co-workers on 2 occasions and use the N word in front of me. I was laughed at by my managers (JG and Sr. Processing Manger based out of Chicago) because I was invited to a meeting by a loan officer (TW) and was given a verbal warning about the meeting. A lot of false information was given to my in my offer. Veterans First starts you off with 5 loans to close for the month, then 10 for the next month and it depending on your prior month closing and/or capacity, I was given 7 for my first month June 2018 and 17 in July. I was only 2 months in and still learning the Veterans First process. While trying to learn the ropes I was micro-managed daily by the sale manager from my first month of employment until I was terminated. VERY TOXIC ENVIRONMENT. PS you have to pay $75 per paycheck for parking, where's the love?...

Pros

Great company culture, they want to see you succeed. Work load isn't to hard to handle. Great starting position to learn the banking industry.

Cons

Company is stuck in 1990. Way too much paper work for modern day banking. Pay is a little low.
