Going downhill after acquisition

Pros

Very talented, knowledgeable people working in an exploding industry. Good level of autonomy and a variety of projects to keep things interesting.

Cons

Since being acquired by Lincoln Electric, Wolf’s culture has changed substantially. The new GM does not embody the values of old and instead only cares about the numbers. Extremely talented and experienced people are departing and being replaced by outside hires, leaving a serious knowledge gap. Employee satisfaction and morale are down as the large corporate culture starts to take over. Wolf used to be very agile but is now weighed down with red-tape and corporate bureaucracy. There's a clear divide in attitude between people who worked for Wolf Robotics and new hires that only know Wolf as a division of Lincoln. Depending on the department, career advancement is limited and compensation increases are dictated by the corporate office, so minimal at best. They rely on a bonus program that not everyone has a direct effect on and is hard to plan for in your finances.

Pros

Great place to develop and gain experience. They take the time to develop new graduates into fully capable workers. Good culture as well. You couldn't ask for a better location for the headquarters.

Cons

Can be a very time demanding company. The amount of travel can be really high, but this is known going into the job.

It's a stepping stone

Pros

They will pay for you to move to Colorado and they will hire just about anyone. They try to give everyone good training but it often gets cut short or eliminated for other more important things. The overtime and travel potential is great if the company is doing well but that is a very wild roller coaster. The best thing is that they will normally fly you home every weekend if you are on the road for a couple weeks. little to no micro managing

Cons

They are not even close to competitive in salary because "you should be glad to have the opportunity to live in Colorado". There is next to no room to grow, all the upper management has every spot locked down for good. You WILL do crappy work and LOTS of it, the engineers get sent off on extremely long site support assignments that can last years in another state or country and you may get as little as 1 week notice that you need to move there. The hands on positions are VERY hard on the body and very mind numbing work and the deadlines are always too short so cutting corners with OSHA is a must. The overall atmosphere starts off very well but there is so much negativity in all areas of the company that it will get to the best of us after some time. vacation maxes at 4 weeks after you work there for 10 years Health insurance is not that great there are really no company reviews so if anyone of a higher position ever talks to you you need to assume that was your review even if it was as minor as taking more notes
