Pros
may be work from home and some selectively good members but are very rare.
Cons
Data science teams leads are not very versed with their own domain produce inefficient code and expect it to work and optimize. Cross team ignores your problem and won't help you basically you're on your own. Off course add to that there are layoffs from no where. Forget about compensation the employees some leads refuse to help and are not at at what they do most of their product architecture is flawed. and they expect you do challenging task within 3-4 of timeframe which usually requires months to carefully craft. everything is glued together somehow but it can fall apart pretty quickly like cascade failures. fake sense of urgency and low overall technical knowledge including mangers and even product team doesn't understand it.
