The interview process was extremely long and drawn out, only for me to be completely surprised by a no-warning layoff just six months into the role. I was assured it was not performance-related, so it's very strange I was so quickly let go after so much time and effort was invested in getting me up to speed. It seemed like a very short-sighted and wasteful tactic to take, especially as my team was producing genuinely stellar results for the company.
