Pros

-Truly great products of the highest quality and performance capability. Zoll continuously updates the design not only for sustaining reasons, but introduces new features as well. Culturally employees embrace the fact that the products they work on save lives and understand what comes with such level of responsibility. - Absolutely unbelievable processes and systems to ensure product quality and process controls. - Technical staff at every level extremely knowledgable of the product and considering the regulatory restrictions in this field, innovate remarkably well. - While Zoll is not swimming in resources, the headcount is more than appropriate when taking into account the amount of work on everyone's plate. This leads to proper number of hours spent by individuals in the office. Unlike many larger companies Zoll is not as afraid to spend money on hiring people.

Cons

The level of cultural toxicity caused by upper management within Operations/Manufacturing is on a level that I have not only never witnessed before, but have never even heard of in all my years working. A truly unbelievable combination of select individuals that strike fear into their employees through public humiliation, screaming, inability to listen, rejection/discouragement of ideas and dictating. Undermining, favoritism, sexism, narcissism, nepotism and sheer disregard for even the most basic ethical and professional standards is exhibited on a daily basis, without even the slightest attempt to hide it or acknowledge it to be a problem. Personnel are afraid to speak up on too many levels, despite the numerous HR complaints. As such cultural behavior is contagious, many employees at a lower level exhibit the same behavior as upper management as they were never kept in check and in some cases encouraged to act in that way. Personnel on the production floor treated like robots. Middle management is a rotating door. Support personnel in too many functions unable to change anything.

Pros

The building is fairly nice and there are some great coworkers. They finally caught up this year to the rest of other companies in the country in terms of benefits, vacation time, and 401k matching.

Cons

Most individuals in a position of leadership has been there for years and control everything. Rather than hiring or promoting experience and success, they prefer to hire friends and family. They do not take your suggestions seriously and if you do comment, they target you as a complainer. You can't go to HR because they support upper management. I know of a time when a complaint was made against a manager and the HR lady replied, "Are you sure you want to file this complaint? He has been here for awhile and is well liked." Management is the most incompetent, disorganized, and unprofessional group of individuals you will find. They only hire individuals who are yes people and don't strive to make too much change. Management is not held accountable for their failures but if you make a mistake, they go on a witch hunt to figure out how this could go wrong and it requires 15 people to investigate. It must be a coincidence that individuals in leadership positions are either relatives, in laws, best friends, childhood friends with the VP. They are all very condescending and spend most of their days in meetings to plan other meetings to schedule future meetings. They have a thousand projects and never complete one in a timely manner. The company is very dysfunctional, the culture has no respect for employees, high turnover rate, cheap with compensation compared to the rest of the market in almost every position, and there is no support if you have a legitimate complaint.
