Pros

- majority of people who aren't in leadership are nice to work with - you get paid

Cons

- too few people control too much of what happens at the company, and those people play favorites to a degree rarely seen in a professional setting. those who are favorites can let projects fail, make other employees cry, or go completely missing for days on end with no repercussions. - will just go with whatever's cheapest. if x tool will automate some menial task that you spend lots of time on, it better be free or else it's not happening. at the same time, why are you spending so much time on that menial task? you're affecting margin!! - absolutely zero interest in improving company process based on employee experience. they want some shiny savior from above to show up and say some magical solution that will make them the first agency in history to have a completely smooth process. - that savior must also agree with most of what they currently have in place. it's all about the tweaks to their genius plan. - purposely undersells projects knowing that will get the agency the job, and then pushes the responsibility of change orders on to the project manager, who will get in trouble for not doing so. - will see massive burnout throughout the workforce but will do nothing about it because people aren't billing a zillion hours to show that in the data. also, if you bill a zillion hours, you're wrong for working too much on a project that didn't pay for that. you can't win. - ceo will attend town hall meetings and read, word-for-word, slides that were prepared for him, most of the time it sounds like it's his first time seeing it. he will completely vanish other than that. he built the agency from the ground up, but is clearly in the mode where he just wants to count his money. - the leadership team will identify something like pwa that will be the future, then only let a tiny portion of the workforce be involved in it, as if it's rocket science. this is one of the areas favoritism clearly plays out publicly. - they will tell you that they focus on culture as a benefit, because they don't have 401k matching, pto and sick days are the same pool, and they don't give raises. the culture sucks - again, just be in that favorites group.

Pros

- mostly remote environment - mac hardware - many new team members (due to a recent mass exodus), so maybe changes are being made?

Cons

- The company applauds team members that are the loudest in the room, and not necessarily the smartest, most efficient, and collaborative team members. - VERY homogenous team, especially on the leadership level. - Lack of support and safe space for team members that are POC. - Lack of company vision. - Lack of responsibility. Business decisions are made by senior-level folks and implications are then blamed on the execution team. - Low team morale. There was a recent mass exodus. I'd encourage you to find people that used to work here and solicit their opinions. - Be warned, you will burn out here and mental health will be affected. - For a small team, there's a lot of blatant favoritism, politics, and bureaucracy. - When companies say "we're a family", be wary of that.
