A failing company

Pros

Most people are really nice and friendly

Cons

- Management is failing. They are not listening their employees neither when it comes to their needs nor when it comes to their professional expertise. - HR department is a joke. The people of the department try hard but the whole team is basically unable to do anything to support employees because upper management is a dictatorship of big boys. - Salaries are unfair, not matching progress and value of each person. They don't care at all about you effort and accomplishments in the company.

Pros

The travel industry is dynamic and engaging, offering junior employees plenty of opportunities to learn and gain valuable experience. The hybrid working model is another positive aspect, providing flexibility. Ferryhopper can be a good starting point for building a career, though growth opportunities may feel limited after a certain level.

Cons

The senior management team, particularly the CMO, presents significant challenges. The CMO’s leadership style is overly micromanaged, with a limited understanding of effective marketing strategies and team management. Employee expertise is often overlooked, with decisions driven by personal preferences and biases rather than data-driven strategies. Despite having the final say in all decisions, the CMO tends to shift blame onto employees when things go wrong, and recognition for positive outcomes is rarely given. The HR department is another area in need of improvement. While present, HR often struggles to effectively address employee concerns or provide meaningful support, which can leave employees feeling unsupported in key moments. Additionally, the company offers limited tangible benefits, which might not be appealing for those seeking a more comprehensive package. These factors can make long-term growth and satisfaction challenging for employees beyond the junior level.

Pros

People are usually friendly. There is an effort to make a positive work environment but this is sometimes affected by the work style of some people

Cons

No real opportunities to grow. People's efforts and potential are not recognised. Job roles are very rigid and hold ambitious people back. Workload is too much Pay is low. Communication could be better. There are many feedback forms but not much changes. Sometimes ideas are taken and passed up without giving credit. Some departments have a high turnover of people
