Pros

-- Very nice office. With all the brand new Macbooks and flat-screens in every room, I understand why they won't pay a competitive salary. -- You get to meet a ton of new people since new hires are constantly replacing people leaving. -- Really cool logo with that little cloud thingy. -- One time I was told "good job"

Cons

-- Constantly changing priorities cause management to create and destroy positions on a whim, gambling with people's careers to satisfy their curiosity. -- Sales team just can't seem to sell the product despite having 4 different sales VPs -- "Drink the kool-aid" type of culture. If you don't conform to what they're wanting to hear, you get a spot on the layoff list.

Thank you for your feedback. We wanted to take a moment to address some of your concerns. First, we have experienced high growth over the past three years and many of our new openings are as a result of this growth. In 2014, 91% of our full-time positions that were filled were newly created positions as a result of our growth. Year-to-date, 70% of our full-time positions filled have been newly created positions as a result of our growth. hc1.com is not experiencing “cash flow issues”, our recent re-alignment included various promotions within the organization as well as expanding the sales department. The re-alignment will allow us to hire high performing talent that will increase sales and productivity within the organization. As we are in the technology sector, we are very competitive on salary and look at all levels including industry average, experience, etc. when we are reviewing new and current salaries. Our success is predicated on team members who not only can thrive in our culture but adapt to the evolution of our business and understand how to execute in a fast paced environment. We appreciate all feedback and encourage every team member to reach out with any questions or ideas.

Pros

-The people on your team are great -Company culture is average, they are working on improving office culture -Semi-flexible schedule

Cons

The problem is that much of the leadership has tunnel vision and does not rely on the talent they bring in to make necessary changes in order to excel to the next level. That is not to say that the organization as a whole needs a revamp, but if they don't enhance or shift strategy and tactics in necessary departments (sales, for one), the business will crumble. They just experienced a 10% company layoff credited to cash flow issues - not comforting for current employees. A lot of the management brought in has had mediocre success at mediocre companies. Again, not to say a lot of the management doesn't have the right vision, but a majority lack the experience to really drive success. A ton of recruited top tech talent have left on their own due to this concern. They also have had turnover in sales leadership, with 4 leadership changes in under two years. There also isn't a formal annual review of path forward plan - HUGE red flag. I shouldn't need to explain why.

Thank you for your feedback. We think the people at hc1.com are great too! Our recent restructuring was not due to “cash flow issues”. It allowed us to realign key team members for improved sales performance and open opportunities for new proven sales talent to join our team. Concurrently, we are adding new talent to the team, promoting deserving team members into new roles, and working to be sure we continue to be successful through improved collaboration and focus Just like our team members, our management team is made up of highly skilled, diverse tech talent from a variety of tech organizations in Indianapolis and surrounding cities. We are fortunate to have an annual attrition rate of less than 5%. hc1.com does have a formal annual review process and employees are able to set up a growth plan with their managers. The hc1.com HR team is heavily involved with managers in developing career development plans for all employees and enhancing Career Development in the organization as a whole. Regarding our recent changes in Sales, this is a natural evolution for any successful growing business as we move forward to recruit new team members who can support improved sales performance. We are focused and in clear pursuit of our vision to personalize the healthcare experience globally and build one of the world’s great vertical cloud companies.
