Not great

Pros

Certain teams are helpful and have a lot of knowledge. The people are generally pretty decent to work with despite a certain level of backstabbing between departments.

Cons

Very top heavy and way too many vague "manager" job titles. Won't provide the correct equipment to those who really need it because of cost but manage to keep a healthy amount of expensive sports cars in the carpark. No learning process & discipline from mistakes meaning the same issues arise from job to job. The very sales driven way the business operates means that those who actually do the work after sales promise unrealistic and uneducated things often end up with a lot of pressure from the client to do the impossible with very little backing from senior management. Employees are given long notice periods to make it hard to leave and then struggle to get deserved increases and progress careers. You are treated more as a number than a person. No bonuses! Ever!

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We appreciate your input and take these issues very seriously. We do agree that we have great people here at proAV, and that they are key to the success of the business. Our staff work incredibly hard and without them, we would not be the company that we are today – that we thank you for. We do feel, however, that we do provide all of our staff with appropriate resources, including IT equipment, to ensure that they are fully supported to carry out their role. In addition we ask for continuous engagement from our team. In support of this we have launched “Recognize Me” where all team members can put themselves forward to highlight exceptional services, initiatives, client feedback to name a few. We understand that we cannot be everywhere at once, but we hope this will serve as a good platform to get that well-deserved recognition. We encourage individuals and line managers to participate in the scheme. A large majority of the team enjoy the social events and these will continue - one size doesn’t fit all but we are listening to feedback and endeavouring to provide something for everyone. With regards to the notice periods, the majority of those on this scheme feel assured to have this in place. Obviously, we do not wish to limit anyone’s opportunity to progress and therefore feel free to raise this with HR should you wish this to change.

Pros

Coffee machine, my team were nice

Cons

Management are extremely horrible - rude, zero acknowledgement and favouritism towards 'friends' in the business. There for multiple years and not once did I receive a salary increase in line with inflation. My line manager was racist.

Pros

No real pros to speak of other than they pay me on time, Some of the other staff are good people - other managers are always trying to trick you into further workload.

Cons

Constant pressure to do more, You have to fight for a cost of living rise increase, so don't expect any review increase or bonus. Wish I had stayed at my last av company to be honest with you.. grass is not always greener Have been onsite with proav for a few years now, heading up a small team, proav just do not care that the team are struggling with inflation - no rises, no cost of living, just ignored.

Pros

None - can't say I learned a thing from my immediate manager.

Cons

Management, and by that I mean the Directors, have successfully created an atmosphere of where certain managers are fearful of their own shadow and scared witless about rocking the boat, leaving them conditioned not to encourage to exercise any initiative from the team for fear of incurring the wrath of the Directors. This invariably leads to frustration, demotivation and rock bottom morale. My immediate manager was a total roadblock and would take every opportunity to not just create all manner of obstacles but throw me under the biggest bus that came along just to save own miserable backside!

Pros

Some of the employees, keep the good ones, get shot of the rubbish! Struggling to find anything else to say!

Cons

Don't pay on time, not interested in paying on time, I honestly believe account have the book 101 excuses next to the phone as their always an excuse! Senior Management do not recognise talent or listen to advice, especially when the employee is the main contact from client to company. Account managers do not pay attention to warning signs, that the client is fed up with their BS and is seeking a new supplier. Blame culture, own your mistakes don't look for an escape goat!

Awful Company

Pros

Salary can be good depending on your role.

Cons

Huge staff turnover - Our team had 4 managers within 2 years. Micro-management - Colleagues are often always being kept an eye on/spied on. Often your desk-phone would ring 1 minute before the end of your shift to make sure you were still there. Bullying - Certain staff members will go out of their way to report you for the smallest of things that could often be resolved with a short conversation. Overtime - Often always given to a "select few", sometimes we weren't even made aware. So the chances of being able to earn extra income were slim, if not impossible. Team Drinks - Often a nightmare. Were never organised properly, and you'd often end up paying for your own drinks as managers would not turn up. Pay Rises - Almost non-existent. Continued false-promises of potential payrises but they never seemed to appear. If/when they did, they were insulting. If your trains are EVER late, don't bother applying for a role here. I was disciplined for lateness, despite have screenshots and photos of my delayed trains, being told "it's not good enough". Seems the staff here don't know what delayed & cancelled trains mean.
