60% positive business outlook
Pros
Bets technical team in the industry, many employees are over the 10 year mark and all work as a family and team alike. Excellent workmanship in house and on site with high pressure and rewarding projects. Name a top company and they have dealt with proAV and most stay with us. Varied and interesting deisgns and projects. Excellent employee packages, training is always offered.
Cons
The normal issues of a comapny that has expanded very quickly, always more workload than can seem to be managed by the workforce however no failures. Can be a tough place to work when it comes to the crunch and where the meak dont tend to cut it, if you are not up to the job or have exagerated your experience then you will be found out quicky and are left behind.
Pros
Certain teams are helpful and have a lot of knowledge. The people are generally pretty decent to work with despite a certain level of backstabbing between departments.
Cons
Very top heavy and way too many vague "manager" job titles. Won't provide the correct equipment to those who really need it because of cost but manage to keep a healthy amount of expensive sports cars in the carpark. No learning process & discipline from mistakes meaning the same issues arise from job to job. The very sales driven way the business operates means that those who actually do the work after sales promise unrealistic and uneducated things often end up with a lot of pressure from the client to do the impossible with very little backing from senior management. Employees are given long notice periods to make it hard to leave and then struggle to get deserved increases and progress careers. You are treated more as a number than a person. No bonuses! Ever!
Pros
ProAV win very interesting projects and constantly strive to be the best in the industry. The teams are great and people are always happy which helps to produce good results
Cons
Can be very busy, only a con if you don't lke being busy
Pros
Coffee machine, my team were nice
Cons
Management are extremely horrible - rude, zero acknowledgement and favouritism towards 'friends' in the business. There for multiple years and not once did I receive a salary increase in line with inflation. My line manager was racist.
Pros
You gain lots of experience as you work at loads of different sites Some sites have excellent teams which massively affect how good the job is, they encourage learning and development, you can rise the ranks if you are the right kind of person. In terms of the ProAV side FM management is good always there for advice, support. If you don’t like the site, you can ask to not come back. By the sounds of things they find it very hard to fire people as they massively need the techs.
Cons
Some sites have terrible work cultures/micromanagers etc. Shifts can be awful - e.g. you may work 7am-4pm one day then 10am-7pm in completely different sites. I have heard horror stories of false promises of pay rises if you change notice period from 1 month to 3 (and then never get the pay rise) Pay disparity in FST team is large and companies actively discouraged pay transparency which is toxic. The company constantly brags about them winning new contracts and how big they’re growing but wages are stagnant and sometimes as technicians we feel undervalued. AV is massively male dominated and some sites have horrible male dominated cultures where you can hear unpleasant/offensive things. If you read you contract and push back - you can avoid getting screwed over. Work lift balance can suffer as shifts are irregular and long - especially if you have a long commute. No WFH possibilities. Benefits are bad - Aviva private health insurance, perkbox and 4% pension. No Cycle to Work, dental, no contribution matching
Pros
Very supportive team who looks after you Great opportunities to work in a variety of environments Access to training to give you the skillset you need
Cons
As an Flexible Support Technician you will be required to move about a lot within London
Pros
No real pros to speak of other than they pay me on time, Some of the other staff are good people - other managers are always trying to trick you into further workload.
Cons
Constant pressure to do more, You have to fight for a cost of living rise increase, so don't expect any review increase or bonus. Wish I had stayed at my last av company to be honest with you.. grass is not always greener Have been onsite with proav for a few years now, heading up a small team, proav just do not care that the team are struggling with inflation - no rises, no cost of living, just ignored.
Pros
Salary can be good depending on your role.
Cons
Huge staff turnover - Our team had 4 managers within 2 years. Micro-management - Colleagues are often always being kept an eye on/spied on. Often your desk-phone would ring 1 minute before the end of your shift to make sure you were still there. Bullying - Certain staff members will go out of their way to report you for the smallest of things that could often be resolved with a short conversation. Overtime - Often always given to a "select few", sometimes we weren't even made aware. So the chances of being able to earn extra income were slim, if not impossible. Team Drinks - Often a nightmare. Were never organised properly, and you'd often end up paying for your own drinks as managers would not turn up. Pay Rises - Almost non-existent. Continued false-promises of potential payrises but they never seemed to appear. If/when they did, they were insulting. If your trains are EVER late, don't bother applying for a role here. I was disciplined for lateness, despite have screenshots and photos of my delayed trains, being told "it's not good enough". Seems the staff here don't know what delayed & cancelled trains mean.
