Pros

Found it hard to think of things to put in this section. I guess, the office is in a nice location.

Cons

There is never any set in stone process of working, things will change like the wind and people actually working on projects will have no say, they need to deal with it & still deliver to tight deadlines. There is no opportunity to grow and expand your skill set, you will go stale here. There is no sense of growth, things feel like the SLT is worried and doesnt want to make any changes in case of negative impact. No opportunity to learn and grow from your mistakes.

Pros

- Close nit team - Family feel business and management team. - Based in the centre of St. Albans. - Flat org structure. You can approach Owners.

Cons

- A lot of navel gazing - very risk adverse - Scared to take risks. - Husband and Wife running the business. - Management team lack wider perspective - Many of the management team have been in at the company for a significant amount of time which means reallymoving is all they know. Suggest a new or different approach to what they know and you will be stone walled! - Dev management like to feel they run the business. The owners rely too heavily on this source of advice which means other views are not considered. - Absolutely zero chance of promotion or personal development. The business is too small, and due to the risk adverse culture you will not grow or learn key management techniques. - Micro Management - This comes back to the confidence and trust management they have in the people they hire i.e. there is non! Everything needs to be checked and re-checked. - Very poor recruitment strategy - Challenge and ask detailed questions to expose truths. In general, this is a family run business by a husband and wife who are actually quite likeable people. Unfortunately the business has stood still for too long, they have not evolved. They identified an opportunity c.20 years ago but took their foot off the pedal after ten years. Competitor businesses have scaled and grown way beyond where this business is now, and they are nervous to change the status quo.

Pros

Over managing work cultures led by two owners of the business a husband and wife team who have no idea how to empower and lead the team they employ to do their jobs. Instead have to control everything. Uninspiring, lack of innovation and willingness to try anything new a mostly because they don’t understand it.

Cons

It was close to home
