Cons

Rosoftlab's motto: "smoke and mirrors" If you look on the website of this company (and know some German) you will be amazed by the quality and theoretical competencies of the individuals working there. Translated and adapted from what is written on the web site about one of the "managing partners" :: ... studied computer science at the University of Erlangen and today is a software developer and software architect". Certainly sounds impressive, but I assure you the reality is totally different :) Technical Environment:: If you get hired by this company, you will probably work on one of the products that Rosoftlab is offering service for. The most impressive(from a negative point of view) is a document management system called "Omanager" developed by one of the managing partners. Probably during college, at least this would be an excuse for the serious performance problems of this application, the code of novice level and missing a coherent design, betraying obvious lack of professionalism and experience. Do not expect to see design patterns or OOP, ORM, or any kind of framework, but highly procedural hand-crafted code. Although ex-student for quite a long time, the guy still hasn't heard of Observer or Visitor, and lacks basic knowledge about exception handling or strings in .NET - the development platform used. As about other applications, well, in this case too things are at least as interesting. VB. NET and you will have as colleague a programmer that has worked for nine years only in VB. Good luck! Collective: One of the managing partners's personal motto is "programmer among students and student among programmers". This isn't something that he admits, but it is the sad reality. An implication of this is the fact that you will work on the projects described above, side by side with students. You want to learn something and have some experience, keep searching, you'll find something better! You want the latest technology, try another company, you might get lucky!
