Welcome to our 2026 Grain Leadership Trainees! . Through this comprehensive cross-training experience, trainees will gain hands-on exposure to both origination and operations across our regions, helping drive growth and innovation at CGB. We’re proud to have them on board and are excited to see the impact they’ll make across CGB!
On December 11, CGB Marine and Cooper Consolidated proudly joined the inland maritime community as major sponsors of the 25th Annual River Bell Awards luncheon—a celebration of the people who keep America’s waterways moving. With a record-setting 600 attendees, the event showcased the strength and unity of our industry. Together, we helped raise an incredible $535,000 for The Seamen's Church Institute (SCI), North America’s largest and most comprehensive mariner service agency. SCI provides chaplaincy, crisis response, advocacy, safety, and mariner training for the inland waterways sector. Each year, SCI chaplains visit more than 2,000 vessels, offering care and comfort to those who spend their lives on the water. This year’s River Bell Award honored George Leavell, CEO of Wepfer Group, LLC, whose hands-on leadership and advocacy have strengthened inland waterways for decades. Wepfer is a trusted partner at multiple CGB locations on the Lower Mississippi River, assisting with boat operations, fleeting, mid-streaming, and more. We also recognize CGB’s Lance Rase, whose dedication to the River Bell planning committee reflects his commitment to our maritime community. “Events like River Bell reaffirm the unity of our industry and the vital role SCI plays,” says Lance. “These mariners sacrifice so much—it’s about showing up and letting them know they’re never alone.” Learn more at www.seamenschurch.org.
At CGB, engaging with our communities is more than a holiday tradition; it’s woven into who we are. This season, our CGB community came together company‑wide, showing up with heart and purpose to uplift the communities around us -- from gathering food and funds for those in need to gifting joy through toy drives. Our MidMiss region even held a competition to see which location could donate the most food - we see you, Little York! We celebrate our broader CGB family as well, including Agforce, Consolidated Terminals and Logistics, Cooper Consolidated, and North Dakota Soybean Processors, whose teams mirrored that same commitment to service. Thanks to our community partners - Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West, Tug Boats for Tots, Rural Cass County Emergency Food Pantry, Roseville Helping Hands, Jamieson Community Center Food Pantries, Family Resource Center of Cass County's Bridge Over Troubled Water Food Pantry, Partners in Food, and Second Harvest Food Bank for inviting CGB to participate this holiday season. As we look ahead to the new year, we express our gratitude to everyone whose generosity has helped make this season brighter!
Proud to have CGB represented at the National Grain and Feed Association’s Country Elevator Conference (CEC), alongside more than 450 leaders from the grain, feed, processing, and supplier sectors! Scott Strickland, Mike Hogan, Chisum Mardis, Zane Crosby, Zach Lasuzzo, and Cayleigh Cooper joined peers from across the industry to network, learn, and engage on the issues shaping the future of agriculture and transportation. A highlight of the conference was 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗖𝗚𝗕’𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, serving as a speaker in the breakout session "𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩: 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙘 𝙀𝙣𝙙 𝙐𝙨𝙚𝙨." The discussion focused on grain traceability in biofuel programs, regulatory requirements across key jurisdictions, and the opportunities and challenges facing grain supply chains as low-carbon fuel programs continue to evolve. Thank you to NGFA for hosting another impactful conference and creating space for collaboration, insight, and progress across our industry. . Photo courtesy of NGFA
