With the help of our employee resource groups, Take Your Child to Work Day 2023 was a success at Cooper Standard in Southeast Michigan. Students in the 3rd through 12th grades enjoyed hands-on activities for conductivity, heat transfer and propulsion and were able to tour of our Global Technology Center in Livonia, Michigan. Our employees are passionate about their careers and were eager to share their knowledge and expertise to help inspired the next generation engineers, designers and leaders.

Today, we hosted a Panels with a Purpose discussion around the topic of “European Diversity and Stereotypes.” Europe is made up of many countries, cultures and sub-cultures that have a direct impact on communication with others using different languages and dialects. Understanding cultural differences allows us to better communicate. We recently held a "day of events" at our global headquarters in Northville, MI, which attracted more than 150 employees and offered a range of activities, such as: Industrial and Specialty Group (ISG) Innovation Showcase: The ISG commercial team presented their involvement in diverse industries to foster cross-collaboration on processes, product solutions and resources. They discussed growth potential, market strategy, design solutions and materials science for high-performance industrial applications. Following the presentation, employees had the opportunity to view our product showcase featuring a Polaris Razor, household window, GE dishwasher, HVAC louver, as well as extrusions made of rubber, plastic and silicone. Employee Resource Group (ERG) Meet-and-Greet: ERG leaders shared more about upcoming opportunities and how to become involved in our ERGs, including our CS African American Network (CAAN); Women Inspire Support Enrich (WISE); and Science, Engineering, Technology and Math (STEM) and Fitness, Athletics, Sporting Team (FAST) groups.
