Our Southeast Michigan employees volunteers jumped in to support Vista Maria’s STEM Camp in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. Cooper Standard shared STEM experiments and the Hartland Robotics Team shared a robotics demonstration to help create interested in pursuing careers in modern manufacturing. Thank you to Michael Patrick Zeiner , newly appointed Managing Director of the German Rubber Association, for his visit last week with the Cooper Standard team in Mannheim, Germany. Congratulations to the 19 Cooper Standard facilities who were awarded as 2022 Diamond Plants for high performance in this year’s operational categories. Another 26 plants earned either Platinum, Gold or Silver rating, giving Cooper Standard over 80% of total plants ranking on Diamond maturity path. Cooper Standard volunteers wrapped up the fall season of the robotics program at SAY Detroit Play Center, mentoring kids in engineering and robotics. This group qualified for regional competition at the Detroit Science Center and students competed against young talent in the same division. When the winners were announced, this team went home with a second-place trophy and the second highest score in the competition! A special thank you to our STEM Accelerators who dedicate 3-4 hours of their time every week supporting this program.

Today, we applaud Bowling Green, Ohio who was selected as Cooper Standard’s Global Kaizen Winner for the best overall scores for their Glass Run Cell Optimization. A winner was chosen based on lean improvement effectiveness, use of lean principles, leverage potential at other plans, and other business factors. 🏆 Regional winners competed against each other at the 2022 Kaizen Competition and over 100+ manufacturing experts scored and selected a winner of this year’s award. Congratulations to all top teams who were leaders in manufacturing excellence!
