Celebrating Pride This month, we’re celebrating all things Pride. And with webinars, as well as interesting articles and resources to share, we've got lots lined up for our colleagues to celebrate and learn. Keith Hallam, our Group Supply Chain Director, is delighted to sponsor the initiative and movement of Pride in our business. “Inclusivity and equality is something I am very passionate about and it takes no compromise to give people their rights, it takes no money to respect the individual and taking the time to recognise and celebrate this occasion serves as a significant reminder of these things. “It’s important we take a moment to reflect on our values and principles that drive our business forward and remember Pride is an all year round look, not just a month. We all need to continue to build a better workplace that advocates inclusivity, diversity and equality!" Here's just a flavour of what our colleagues can get involved with throughout June and July: - Employee stories posted on our internal website - Pride Run - Webinars on Allyship and Trans Inclusion - E-learning - plus lots of support and resources for everyone to access
We're proud to support the BBSA's Make it Safe Campaign. Child safety is at the forefront of everything we do and all our blinds meet the European Standard BS EN 13120 for both performance and safety. Although blinds are not an obvious hazard, we know that window coverings can be potentially dangerous to young children - in particular the cords, tapes and chains that are used to operate them. So how do we ensure our blinds meet all the required performance and safety standards? We have lots of cordless blinds and other window dressing options available that are safe for homes with young children including Motorised blinds, all our PerfectFit products, Intu Micro, spring operated roller blinds, curtains, and shutters. Any Roller, Venetian, Wooden, Roman or Pleated blind that has a cord is always installed with a discreet little cleat or hook - so that there are no loose strings. If customers have existing blinds that are old and do not have a cleat or hook, we provide these free of charge Certain blinds also have special breakaway devices that will pull apart with excess force To find out more about the BBSA's Make it Safe Campaign visit the Make it Safe website: https://www.makeitsafe.org.uk/
