Mr Pradeep Kirnapure, Distinguished Engineer, HSC, was part of the panel discussion on " AI and ML: New way of modern Digitization" , during the 11th edition of Manufacturing Innovation Conclave organized by CII. He stressed on the need for a matured eco-system consisting of sensors, reliable communication, stable compute and trained personnel for success of AI systems. He mentioned a possibility of pre-trained AI models in near future, for use-cases in manufacturing sensors, thus making it easy for late adopters to deploy AI systems. He also spoke about (a) no clear ROI for SSI, (b) results not always interpretable (c) non-deterministic nature with non-zero probability of incorrect decision as some of the challenges faced by the manufacturing industry in India today.

A Talk session on Covid Vaccination organized for HSCians on Jul 7, 2021 To alleviate apprehensions & myths about the vaccine and to understand its efficacy, safety & benefits, HSC organised a session by Dr. Ankit Agrawal from Akash Hospital, Dwarka on Jul 7, 2021 (Wednesday). The session was very well received and attended by more than 80 HSCians. Dr. Agrawal answered many queries regarding timing (post infection) of inoculation, gap between vaccines, efficacy & availability of vaccines other than Covishield & Covaxine, administration of vaccine for nursing mothers & pregnant ladies and regarding the long-term effects of these vaccines. This talk was one of the many covid support initiatives that HSC has been organizing for the wellbeing of HSCians during these testing times. #thistooshallpass

Vaccination Camp at HSC Given the ferocious impact that 2nd wave of the pandemic unleashed, a COVID vaccination camp was organized on Jun 10, 2021 through Cloud 9 hospital, Gurgaon. Keeping the safety of the employees and their families in mind, the venue for the camp was chosen to be HSC Gurgaon office premises enabling the employees to avoid crowded public places for getting their vaccine administered . HSC sponsored vaccination for not only the employees and their families (18 yrs & above) but also for trainees, contractors, support staff – house-keeping, pantry, security, drivers, land scaping staff, along with their families. We, at HSC, believe that our people are our true assets. The wellbeing of HSCians is our top priority, even more so in such trying times. Apart from the said vaccination camp, several support measures have been put in place since the onset of pandemic . A Central Support team has been constituted through which impacted employees & their families are constantly supported ( financially &/or emotionally or for medical assistance)
Team HSC Ignited Minds, among the Top 10 teams in global ITU AI/ML in 5G Challenge The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies. ITU conducted a global ITU AI/ML in 5G Challenge in Dec 2020 From HSC, Team ‘Ignited Minds’, comprising of Abheek Saha & Chitwan Arora participated in the global challenge. Team participated in one of the problems of Network track where they needed to work on the Optimal Beam selection for Millimeter-Wave MIMO Systems using Machine Learning. The data consisted of millimeter wave (mmWave) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels, paired with data from sensors such as LIDAR, GPS etc. It is no mean feat that Team HSC was among the Top 10 teams in a contest of such international repute & respect, where best of the best technical minds converge & compete.
