The labor and delivery staff at Methodist Dallas returned home for the holidays. Earlier this month, community members, donors, and leaders gathered for a ribbon cutting, blessing, and tours of the newly redesigned space. Methodist Health System Foundation raised almost $11.5 million for the nine-month, $13 million project. The hospital expects to see more than 2,400 deliveries by year's end. There's new life in the place that welcomes new babies!
Methodist Midlothian is celebrating the completion of its $20 million expansion, which adds 30 new inpatient beds and intermediate care suites. The hospital opened just four years ago, but Methodist's strategy from the beginning has been to support Ellis County's fast-growing population. President Jary Ganske says, "This milestone demonstrates our dedication to this region and our strong partnerships with local providers to ensure seamless patient care." Methodist Midlothian held an appreciation banquet to honor our amazing volunteers. Our volunteer department allows exceptional people to perform nonclinical tasks that facilitate hospital operations and enhance the comfort of patients and visitors. In the past fiscal year, volunteers have donated 6,160 hours of service, one reason why our hospital has many positive patient experience ratings in key departments. At Methodist Health System, we're on a journey to excellence. That's why four of our hospitals are Magnet®-designated: Methodist Dallas, Methodist Charlton, Methodist Mansfield, and Methodist Richardson. The Magnet designation recognizes organizations for quality patient care, nursing excellence, and innovations in professional nursing practice. Magnet hospitals attract and retain some of the best nurses — those who collaborate with others to deliver excellent patient outcomes. These are the hospitals whose nurses enjoy higher job satisfaction and lower staff turnover. If you're attracted to Magnets, join us. Jobs.MethodistHealthSystem.org

Methodist Mansfield has given the community a boost in emergency care. The hospital recently expanded its trauma care services. Now residents can count on trauma surgeons being on-site 24 hours a day, which means that the trauma team is ready for virtually any emergency at any time. People can quickly access high-quality, lifesaving care for complex to severe emergencies without wasting a second traveling to another trauma center. Our hospital's ED has their back!
How we've grown! Methodist Richardson has finished an expansion on the fifth floor that adds a 25-bed intermediate care unit. This addition will really make a difference as we approach the winter's COVID, RSV, and flu surges. We're ready!
