When Michelle was young, her interest in science began with animals and the natural world when she discovered Sir David Attenboroughโs book Life on Earth. Her passion for science led to her becoming a physician, before she joined Novartis 4 years ago in Gene Therapies. Today, Michelle is an Executive Director in Translational Medicine where she works with her team to design clinical trials to aid in discovering safe and effective new therapies. Dr Bรผlent Kฤฑzฤฑltan joined Novartis in 2020 as the Executive Director of Causal & Predictive Analytics at the companyโs AI Innovation Lab. Leading a team of experts, the goal is to transform the entire drug discovery process from an AI-enabled to an AI-enhanced and, finally, to an AI-driven process. In his blog post he describes how his desire to understand our place in the cosmos led him to Nasa and how his love of inter-disciplinary work and collaboration ultimately brought him to Novartis.
