PDS Health and the PDS Health Foundation kicked off 2026 in Guatemala by leading the first-ever service trip with The Ohio State University College of Dentistry at the PDS Health Foundation Clínica Dental. Fifteen dental students and three professors—Dr. Matthew Messina, Dr. Rob Gardner, and Executive Associate Dean Dr. Andrea Zandona—traveled to Xenacoj, where they provided dignified care at the Clínica Dental and treated more than 200 patients. Students earned academic credit for their participation and demonstrated exceptional compassion, skill, and professionalism. This trip also marked the dental school’s first service trip directly through the College of Dentistry. This outstanding partnership would not be possible without the support of the Clínica Dental team—Dr. Rodrigo Letona Barillas, Dr. Bernny, Hilda, Astrid, and Elizabeth—who ensured students were supported clinically and culturally throughout the week. PDS Health was also joined by Regional Partner Mark Dean and Owner Dentist Dr. Scott Knapke (an OSU College of Dentistry alumnus), who helped make the week a success. Here’s to creating healthier, happier communities in 2026.
Our Senior Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist, Yasmin Alfurati, had the honor of presenting to dental students at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry about the value of maintaining a service culture at PDS Health. Yasmin shared with students insights about our purpose in dentistry and the incredible work our teams are doing every day to create healthier, happier communities. Thank you to the students for donating canned goods to The Community Crossroads and assembling over 100 hygiene kits for the Ronald McDonald House Dallas.
On November 14th at Angel Stadium, the Angels Baseball Foundation and TeamSmile brought together more than 250 elementary students from schools across ASDA District 13, including the Centralia Unified School District, for a day dedicated to healthy smiles. PDS Health was proud to support this event by providing the volunteer dentists, hygienists, and team members who delivered free cleanings, screenings, education, and a truly memorable experience for every child who attended. Thank you to our clinicians and partners for showing what it looks like when a community comes together to make oral health accessible and fun. hashtag#PDSHealth hashtag#TeamSmile hashtag#OralHealth hashtag#CommunityCare hashtag#ForceForGood
