Ada Lovelace Day (ALD) is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). If you've not heard of her, she's often considered to be the world's first computer programmer. This week PropertyGuru Group celebrated Ada Lovelace Day by bringing together students, industry leaders, and Gurus from our Engineering Centre of Excellence for an afternoon of inspiration, learning, and reflection. A keynote address by military veteran, Board advisor and fellow Guru Raakesh Thayyil, set the tone by emphasizing the importance of continuous learning at every stage and staying curious as a driver of innovation. In the panel discussion "The Power of Possibility: Women Leaders in STEM" we're grateful for our guests Arti Awasthi from Arcesium, who spoke about building strong technical fundamentals and nurturing the spirit of learning, and Gayatri Singh B from Wells Fargo, who highlighted the value of mentorship at different stages of one’s career. The event was a celebration of learning, mentorship, and the power of possibility - values that continue to shape our culture of innovation at PropertyGuru Group and especially our flagship Prodi-G Early Careers Programme. Friday 10th October was World Mental Health Awareness Day and PropertyGuru Group took a company-wide day off to pause and recharge. Yes, did you miss us? We gave all our employees an extra long weekend to rest and recharge for mental health. Some people meditated, some do yoga… our Communications expert Elysia H. Ho climbs walls. For her, balance isn’t found by slowing down, it’s found halfway up a climbing wall. Every grip, every reach, every moment off the ground helps her shake off stress and find her focus again. (and doing it with PG-red climbing holds only just adds to the thrill!) Because for her, recharging isn’t about resting. It’s about RISING ! This month, let’s all find our own way to climb back and recharge.
