We’re working alongside the City of Minneapolis in Minnesota to help keep stormwater clean and protect local waterways. SEH’s Emily Jennings, PE and Justin Gese recently led a site visit to one of our joint projects on 1st Avenue South. Big construction projects like this need special stormwater management systems to manage the rainwater runoff and keep pollution out of rivers and lakes. On this project, there wasn’t enough room above ground for all the stormwater treatment needed, the team built a huge underground chamber made of concrete pieces that fit together like a puzzle. It’s about 135 feet long, 13 feet wide, and it can hold and clean nearly 4,700 cubic feet of stormwater each time it rains. This helps remove hundreds of pounds of sediment every year! Thanks to the crews from the City’s Surface Water and Sewer Division for making it happen. We’re proud to help protect the water we all share. #CityofMinneapolis #Stormwater #Engineering #WaterQuality

A quiet escape for pedestrians, cyclists, and nature lovers alike! 🌲 Winding alongside Indiana Dunes National Park, the Calumet Trail offers a peaceful route through dune ecosystems, black oak savannas, and Great Marsh wetland habitats. All of this is accessible within just a few miles. The trail also parallels the historic South Shore Line, connecting modern-day recreation to the region’s transportation past. We’re proud to be a part of making spaces like this. #IndianaDunes #CalumetTrail #TrailDesign

The City of Medicine Lake set out to fix failing infrastructure and came away with stronger streets, safer intersections, and a resilient utility system built to last. Poor soils, aging pipes, limited access – this project had it all. Creative thinking and close collaboration made the difference. See how a neighborhood-focused upgrade made a big impact. 🔽 #MedicineLakeMN #CityEngineering #UtilityDesign #StreetImprovements #SEH
