Every day, Leon walks the streets of Downtown Richmond with one mission: to connect people with the resources and support they need. Whether it’s helping someone access medical care, apply for benefits, or simply offering a listening ear, Leon approaches his role with compassion and understanding. Through his work with us at StreetPlus as our Social Outreach Coordinator in Downtown Richmond, Leon has become a trusted presence in the community. He partners with local businesses and neighbors to provide alternatives to crisis situations and helps bridge the gap between those in need and the services available to them. Leon’s belief is simple but powerful: treat people as people first. That mindset has allowed him to build trust, de-escalate difficult situations, and create meaningful connections that can lead to lasting change. We are proud to share that Miguel Fernandez-Nazario, Operations Supervisor for Streetplus in the Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District, has been recognized as part of the 2025 Class of 40 Under Forty! Since joining Streetplus in 2019 as a cleaning ambassador, Miguel’s leadership and dedication have helped transform Downtown Worcester into a thriving destination. Within just one year, he was promoted to operations supervisor, where he now oversees the Clean & Safe team across a 78-acre district, ensuring the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and community support. Under Miguel’s guidance, the team has implemented first aid training and proactive community monitoring, working closely with local police and emergency services to make downtown safer and more welcoming for all. His commitment to community wellness also extends beyond Streetplus—through his real estate work, nonprofit leadership, and educational initiatives, Miguel is dedicated to building opportunities and supporting residents across Worcester. We’re honored to have Miguel on our team and celebrate this well-deserved recognition.
