Pros

Fidelity provides a very competitive compensation package but the benefits are best in the business. Benefits like a 7% 401k match plus 10% profit sharing is hard to beat. Medical benefits, loan repayment, PTO and the Charitable match are also unique.

Cons

I worked at Fidelity for close to 20 years and the culture has shifted very dramatically to micro management, what have you done for me last week culture. In relationship roles your expected to produce unrealistic goals from existing client base while being compare to other reps receiving new clients with money in motion. Expectations presenting annuities is also concerning as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER. Too many good people leave sales and relationship roles to other roles in the organization due to burn out and which does impact the clients. FC roles are no longer a destination roles but rather a stop to some other role or outside the organization.

Advice to Management

As a private company you take pride in your ability to look forward more than quarter to quarter like public companies. Look back at your heritage and realize your employees are your most important resources. Recent dramatically increases in employee base is necessary but treating them with respect is just as important as other benefits. Read these posts everyone love the benefits but hate to be treated like a piece of equipment.

Excellent benefits, and very much an attitude of knowing that if employees are treated well then customers will be treated well. 7% 401K match, plus 10% profit sharing, health dental and vision all great, also 10K a year still I think towards college tuition if you work your way through school and 2K a year towards laying down student loans. Also just made parental leave 12 weeks paid for maternity or paternity including adoption!

Cons

Only con is the pay, they are pretty tight on not doing a whole lot of raises outside of getting promoted to a new job and the pay is very rigid which does help you know it’s fair across the board especially since associates openly talk about pay which is kind of cool. I will say though if you want to work hard and move up it is a great place for that. I have been promoted three times and about to be a fourth in less than four years and have already more than doubled my income. I guess I could’ve put some of that in the pros section, whoops.

Pros

Great benefits including a generous pension plan and health insurance. Salaries are only average though. The company culture is very good with many events organised regularly and different groups that meet regularly on all aspects including diversity, technology and more. Managers are in general down to earth and approachable.

Cons

Salaries are just average. This is offset by good benefits but take home pay is not the best.

Advice to Management

Recognise true tallent and invest more on those people.
