Does Kaiser Permanente offer life insurance?
Pros
Great benefits (you have to like Kaiser healthcare and that system though). The pension, life insurance and ability to add family members for very cheap is great. That is how they convince to work at KP.
Cons
The pay and expectations are laughable. High stress, some mobility and opportunities depending on how much you just keep your head down and make sure to connect with the right people. Plenty of nepotism all around, the employees who are unionized are interesting to say the least and demanding. The environment is quite toxic, many people turn a blind eye to things. When you are a project manager, you do not have a union to stand up for you. You do as you're told period including functioning as the call centers back up when they are on strike or nurses when the covid testing sites need staff. All of that... and you barely make more than an in-n-out employee.
Advice to Management
When you ask for evaluations on management, make it confidential and do not give copies of responses to the manager who can guess who said what. Make changes that are necessary for the environment to be at least in the early 2000's. Healthcare is a tough industry and the pay and environment need to change. Especially for those that are not Clinicians but support that world in its entirety.
The pension, life insurance and ability to add family members for very cheap is great.
