How are the career development opportunities at Olive Garden Italian Restaurants?

Good general manager, good working environment, and the managers are good at giving recognition to their staff.

You either love or hate the managers here.

Loved working for this company. I started out as a host and was able to work my way up to Manager. Great opportunity for career advancement.

If I could change anything - maybe the 10 hour work day. Otherwise, nothing bad enough to share.

High turn over, focused on the numbers too much at times. Very green managers

The best part about working at Olive Garden was that there are lots of opportunities to grow. You can start as a hostess or busser, and move into server/togo/bartender/management positions. Also really loved working with my coworkers.

The cons are that sometimes you have to deal with bad management. Some managers are horrible, while others are amazing. Just sucks if you run into an issue when a manager you don't care for is working.
