Overall Severn Trent is a really good place to work. Severn Trent gives some great opportunities for career progression. There are lots of opportunities to move across teams to gain a breadth of experiences and managers are very supportive with guiding career development. In finance there is a great programme to support with professional qualifications. The culture is really good with really strong values across the company, particularly around environmental impact. You get the feeling that everyone is on board with the aims to have a positive impact on communities and the environment.

Salaries might be a bit lower in some roles than at some other companies - but I do think the pro's out way the cons.

There are lots of opportunities to progress and develop as there are always various internal roles which come up in finance allowing you to gain more experience! The maternity policy is also amazing almost full 12 months full pay! There is also a lot of focus on the environment and doing our bit which is really encouraging to see.

Sometimes you can’t always park in the buildings car park which means a 10 minute walk to the office
