Pros
Friendly and welcoming colleagues Remote work Decent pay and perks Great work life balance Easy job
Cons
Unclear direction, chaotic management, very top down/hierarchical organisation
Pros
Incredibly fast and respectful Hiring process. From application to job offer was 8 days with 3 interviews. Collaborative culture. The team has multiple touch points each day for members to share knowledge and discuss active tickets, allowing for quick resolution of issues. I never feel afraid to ask questions, and the time between these meetings gives me time to resolve many issues on my own. Friendly team. Everyone on the team has been pleasant to work with. There's a very personable atmosphere that makes it easy to relax, coordinate with the team, and get work done. Reasonable expectations. Management sets reasonable goals and expectations for work, and offers flexibility where needed based on circumstances. I.e. the goal for the week may be 10 ticket closures, but if you got 5 tickets that were all complex, you hit the goal. Great pay and benefits. The PTO is generous, and the pay exceeded my expectations. No complaints. They promote from within. I've seen multiple director level employees who started as developers within Star. It's always a good sign when a company promotes from within
Cons
No clear coding standards. This is being worked on, but the code can be a bit messy in places.
Pros
Survived Covid without major layoffs Good Hard Working People
Cons
Pay is not very competitive and neither are bonuses and raises
Pros
There are so many pros working at StarCompliance: -Great people and culture - A lot of projects happening so plenty of room for personal growth - Progression and promotion opportunities (I was recently promoted so I can say this happens!) - Regular salary reviews - New benefits being changed and introduced - Chief execs are approachable and you will work with them on a daily basis - Although predominantly remote, there are plenty of social opportunities to meet colleagues in person.
Cons
None so far - keep it up!
Pros
Nice colleagues, decent remote kit, low stress environment, August Fridays off, increasing holiday allowance
Cons
Low salary for industry No carry over for holidays Lack of training Suppliers taking over Lack of ownership and strategic direction in products
Pros
To put it simply, the best thing about working for STAR are the colleagues. Absolutely everyone you come across in STAR are friendly and kind people. It makes coming into work every day - even when you're remote - an absolute joy! The places and areas you're able to grow within the company are great. The managers are always willing to help expand skills - such a SQL - which are only going to be beneficial! In addition the benefits we're receiving just seem to be getting better and better. The new pension scheme seems to be helping put a little extra money in our pockets, the vouchers we can get are brilliant. There's always room for improvement (maybe dental care?) but they're really excellent so far!
Cons
There is no scale for pay - a 'senior' may get paid less than an 'analyst' just due to what people came in and started on. This isn't fair. If someone has been recognised for working harder, so much that they get a promotion in the corporate scale, this should be reflected within the pay. Someone being on a higher level but lower pay does not make sense and is actually pretty de motivating. Working out some sort of scale for the different tiers (so analyst will be from this - that etc)
Pros
Supportive and cool team Flexibility Unlimited PTO Family Oriented
Cons
HR needs upgrade Office Politics in middle management Lack of support in employee continous development. No career advancement Low Pay.
Pros
Nice people to work with HR seems well intentioned
Cons
Chaotic and short term management Not enough focus on clients and client needs No real long term focus or strategy Limited career development Salary not particularly competitive
