What is the hiring process like at The AA?

      The AA reviews

      Fantastic recruitment and onboarding experience!

      Quality assurance coordinator
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The recruitment and onboarding process was thoroughly explained and informative throughout. The AA offer lots of benefits such as discounts, of course breakdown cover and a good pension scheme which made the decision to move to the AA an easy one. The culture is lovely - everyone is so welcoming and friendly.

      Cons

I haven’t come across any negatives working at the AA!

A Great Company to Work For

      Pros

I’ve only been with the AA for two months, but my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The onboarding process was smooth and welcoming, and I immediately felt like part of the team. The company has a fantastic culture where employees are valued and supported. The management team is approachable, transparent, and genuinely interested in helping employees succeed. The work-life balance is excellent, and the company offers a generous benefits package. There’s a real emphasis on professional development, and even in my short time here, I’ve already had access to training opportunities that have helped me grow in my role. The team is collaborative, and I’m constantly learning from my colleagues, which has made my transition into the company much easier.

      Cons

None that I can think of.

A masterclass in incompetence – HR with not an ounce of integrity

      Analytics engineer
      Former employee

      Pros

The hiring manager seemed genuinely interested in the work and professional during interviews. The role itself had potential, which makes the experience that followed even more disappointing.

      Cons

This was by far the most disorganised and unethical hiring process I’ve encountered. After issuing a formal offer and start date, HR repeatedly contradicted themselves and asked for the same documentation multiple times including items I had already provided directly from the Home Office and immigration lawyers. When they were unsure how to proceed, rather than being transparent or seeking clarification, they chose silence. Calls went unanswered, emails ignored, and information was withheld. They eventually rescinded the offer over the phone without a single written explanation, weeks after confirming that all requirements had been met. It became clear that the HR and onboarding team either lacked understanding of their own compliance process or simply didn’t care to act with honesty. Their behaviour showed zero ownership, zero transparency, and zero accountability. This is not how any reputable organisation should treat candidates especially after making a formal offer.

      Pros

I've recently just started and the onboarding process was seemless. Constant communication through the hiring process and this was all done via phone calls (which for a candidate) and straight away embedded into a team who value my skills and contributions to the department

      Cons

nothing at all, everything has been very positive

      Current employee

      Business outlook

      Pros

I've been with this company for about a month, and I can honestly say it's one of the best places I've worked so far. The team is great and supportive, and I feel like I'll be challenged here in a good way. The recruitment process was fast, and I appreciated that the interview process included meeting the rest of the team.

      Cons

If you previously had a remote job, you'll need to adjust to coming into the office twice a week. However, this isn't really a downside since you can discuss reducing these days with senior management if you live far away. Other than that there aren’t really any cons.
