Does Ubisoft offer unlimited holiday?

Pros

Megan is an absolute boss recruiter. So much admiration of everything she does solo prior to my arrival. Unlimited snacks, unlimited orange juice and apple juice and daily fruits.

Cons

A lot more quiet than I expected. But honestly there is no cons with the HR team I was with. They are very caring and kind, invited me to their end of summer party even though it’s normally not for temps.

Advice to Management

So I worked proudly for two weeks. Gave up my permanent job for this contract role to finally make a break into the games industry. Gave up my puppy since I had to move up here and couldn’t bring him. I gave up a lot to be here and the short answer I got was that I was not a good fit with the team. I would say the only con was I wish I had a heads up. Most places have a sit down and discuss with me what I can do better, but since this was contract, I literally just get let go. And this was after picking up multi people scheduling very quickly and scheduled 8 different interviews and each with 6-8 people with three being executive level (which was super hard!)

Unlimited snacks, unlimited orange juice and apple juice and daily fruits.

What is the retirement plan like at Ubisoft?

Pros

Free Gym, Located in the cultural hub, and one of the most historical cities in Canada.

Cons

There are some HR Talent Acquisition specialists who are very unprofessional. Taking things very personal in a business setting leading to toxic behaviour and interesting circumstances you may find yourself in. - French favouritism persists, sometimes its said to be equal opportunities for all, however if you do not speak french for a first language or its elementary then you will run into problems with managers and HR. - Relocation services - one of the most headache worthy experiences I have ever seen in a large studio. You may ask them a question regarding your move, and you won't hear back for 5+ days, and even then your question won't be answered. -Career path, be weary - if you aren't given an idea where you are headed in the interview, chances are you will be stuck in a stagnant job opportunity. This can reflect poorly on your experience for sure. - Bonuses: They allow for you to obtain them, however, sometimes the goals are very hard to achieve. - RRSP matching is up to 20%.. It seems good on paper, but be warned, if you are working here your pay will be lower (unless in the upper senior positions) which makes the want to contribute 20% pretty difficult to live off of especially in Montreal,QC where the taxes are greater than most provinces.

Advice to Management

Re-evaluate your HR. Some act petty and can make you lose your talent faster than it is hired. Word will get out especially when your employees have had negative experiences with HR.

RRSP matching is up to 20%..

Does Ubisoft have a pension plan?

Pros

Most people love their career and having a great passion in the gaming industry which creates a positive work place environment. There are many learning opportunities and resources helps to balance work and life (yoga, boot camp, free on site studio gym, regular basis employee survey for better operation, awesome HR etc) They also encourage to explore other career options within the company by developing new/existing skills. I really like the part that CEO shows his passion towards the game industry market and communicates with studios to deliver the company goal.

Cons

Low salary Super fast paced work environment Less flexible health benefit, fixed to certain options only Lack of company saving benefits (low RRSP contribution, no DC pension plan)

Lack of company saving benefits (low RRSP contribution, no DC pension plan)
