Initial phone screen went great. Then a video interview with the hiring manager. He spent half of our call focused on his "script" about his goal being for me to get "even more excited about the role and the company" after we spoke. The interview went so well, I'm highly (over)qualified for the role, we had a great chat, and all felt like a great fit. Then...ghosted. For a couple weeks, then a generic rejection email. LOL
My guess is that it's an internally chaotic place, and they simply can't align on what they need.
