I applied online. I interviewed at AKUNA CAPITAL (Singapore) in Oct 2025
Interview
1st round of the interview consists of a hacker rank MCQ tests
the hackerrank involves math , data handling and coding test.
The math test involves linear algebra, calculus and statistics
the data handling involves pandas dataframe
coding test involves a short monte carlo method coding question
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The hardest part is the coding test which involves the probability of picking 2 numbers at random from a list of integers with a probability of being congruent modulo n, where n is an interger,
Warning: Some of the interviewers ask for proprietary info about how you trade or construct signals, either by asking detailed follow-up questions far beyond common knowledge, or by asking you to find patterns in market data that would inform a trading strategy.
This is quite different from assessing your skills as they're seeking new ideas which can be monetized. So if you're an experienced candidate, don't bother applying to Akuna unless you want to give away knowledge and waste lots of time with no real prospect of a job offer.
If you must interview with them, don't disclose proprietary info, but instead describe signals or methods that are commonly known or don't work well.
received a test link having 3 easy python programming problems. fairly straightforward, qualified to the next round. the next one was 7 probability questions you get 5 minutes per question to explain your solution and tell the answer. the questions were standard, it was a vidcruiter round. i messed up slightly on the first question, and might not proceed to the next round.

cannot disclose questions. very standard questions, couple of them on markov chains
2 online tests, one on coding and another one on maths. Coding is leetcode style, not oop. Maths on diverse set of topics (linear algebra, multivariable calculus). Need to talk about your thoughts while doing the maths test
