      Online Trading Manager Interview

      13 Jul 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ASOS (London, England) in May 2021

      Interview

A short phone call with someone from HR/recruitment, followed by a video call interview in which I was asked to put together a presentation on ASOS trade during COVID, as well as a business plan for expanding into a new market of my choice. This was then followed by another half hour or so of questions from 2 members of the team. I then did not hear back at all from anyone, despite emailing for an update or feedback. The presentation itself took me about 3 full days to put together. I have been interested in working at ASOS since starting out in online trading as my own career, and to of gone through what was an incredibly intense process, as just the first stage interview, to then not even hear back with an automated rejection was really disappointing. The amount of prep that went into both the interview and presentation felt like a complete waste of my time, there were points where one of the interviewers wasn't even paying attention, and was speaking to someone else over her shoulder. Might be best to interview candidates more casually before putting them forward to do a task of that level. Was a pretty awful experience and definitely put me off ever trying to work here, if that's how interviewees are treated then I can't imagine the internal environment to be that healthy.

Hello and thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Your feedback on our Recruitment process is really important to us as it helps us create an enjoyable experience for anyone who interviews with us. We’re disappointed to hear that your experience with us wasn’t a positive one. Our teams deal with high volumes of applications and interviews every day and we always aim to provide feedback on interviews, particularly if someone has invested a lot of time preparing a presentation and we’re sorry to hear that this didn’t happen. We’d like to make this right. Please do contact us directly (talent@asos.com), we’d be more than happy to look into what happened and come back to you with full feedback on your project.
