      External Communications Manager Interview

      12 Mar 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Airbus (London, England) in Feb 2026

      Interview

They started with an in-person interview, which felt strange. I was told I was one of 7, picked out from 400 applicants. While this was of course gratifying, it was also a bit strange to be called into their office in person at this early stage. Because I had met them in person, it also felt sort of insulting to receive a very standard letter telling me I hadn't progressed to the next stage. If you ask people into the office for an hour face-to-face with a panel. I think the communications after really need to match that. It doesn't take much, just a slightly more personalised letter.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked about previous experience in comms but also about what journalists I would approach for a potential story I wanted publicised.
