I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Akamai (Cambridge, MA) in Mar 2021
Interview
The interview process consisted of being able to meet peers, superiors, direct reports, and business partners. They did a good job creating variety in who I would speak with and collectively they allowed me to see insight into how the organization worked.
The interview process took an extremely long time (many many weeks) which ultimately led me to accepting an offer elsewhere. Their pay was fair (even with what I accepted elsewhere), I just had concerns about how efficient the organization was given the extremely long delay in hiring.

Question 1
The interview questions were typical of a senior engineering position, quite a bit about decision making, development methodology, leadership style, and my direct knowledge of the tech I’d be leading.
The style was similar to what I was asked at other questions, focusing largely on giving examples of situations I’d been in previously.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Akamai
Interview
This was a smooth, efficient and quick process.
A recruiter contacted me via email, and I had two more calls, one with the recruiter and one with the hiring manager. Nhe recruiter scheduled an onsite interview (with travel). The onsite interview was 6 hours, with a lunch break. Interview sessions included the hiring manager, two peer managers, and two more senior managers. I had followup calls with the recruiter and hiring manager and an offer I accepted within a week.

Question 1
The interview process friendly and professional. The interview team wanted to get to know me, not to catch me in a mistake.
