Week 1: Had an excellent phone screen with the recruiter. The next steps were supposed to be a phone interview with the hiring manager, followed by onsite interviews, and finally an offer if everything went well.
Weeks 2-3: Experienced delays and lack of communication. Despite my efforts to follow up with emails, I received no response until week 3, when I was informed that the hiring manager wanted to proceed.
Weeks 4-5: Continued communication issues with the recruiter. It took another week and three more emails to schedule a phone call with the hiring manager. The 30-minute Teams meeting in week 5 with the hiring manager was frustrating, as she refused to use video. She acknowledged the recruiter’s poor follow-up and promised to have them schedule the onsite interview.
Weeks 6-7: More delays and unresponsiveness. After multiple emails, I finally got a response to schedule the onsite interviews. Despite promptly confirming my availability, I received no further updates. After and additional THREE MORE follow-ups and a holiday, I was eventually informed via a brief email that they were moving on with another candidate on the day that I was supposed to start interviewing. Instead I got a "thanks but not thanks" email with zero feedback.
Overall Experience: The lack of communication and professionalism from the recruiter was astonishing. Despite Align Technology being my top choice and having interviewed for multiple positions there over the years, this experience was a deal-breaker. The recruiter’s behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful, leading me to advise other candidates to avoid this company. The Talent Acquisition team’s conduct reflects poorly on the company and needs serious improvement. This was a complete waste of time and energy.
