The interview process was pleasant and went well in the beginning. I interviewed with the recruiter, and then all five members of the team I would be working with. I got on well with all of them, and at least three of them told me in the interview that I was a "thumbs up." I know when an interview goes well, and I had a lot in common with the team and the department mission. I was excited. Then, I had the "bar raiser" interview which was the last interview. I had been told to expect some specific questions, and the examples given to me where normal interview questions. However, nothing prepared me for the rudeness and hostility of the "bar raiser" interviewer. She had nothing to do with team I would be working with. She was openly hostile from the minute the camera switched on, no pleasantries, busy doing something else for a couple of minutes and not talking while I waited, and openly annoyed and bored with the whole process. She yawned twice without covering her mouth and turning away from the camera. I am accustomed to interviewing and am a cheerful and friendly person, but I felt very insulted by this person's behavior and did my best to remain friendly and not behave in kind. Needless to say, I did not get the job as the "bar raiser" interviewer apparently has veto power. I feel that, after that, I dodged a bullet and see at least three executive assistant positions being currently advertised, including the one that I DIDN'T get having been reposted. So, be warned!
