I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in May 2023
Interview
I applied for this position on April 12th 2023 then got an invite for a virtual group interview on the 18th. On April 24th I did the virtual interview. It was 2 recruiters and about 30 interviewees. After that on April 28th I got an email saying I was invited to Dallas for an in person interview on May 24th at 9 AM! They flew me out to Dallas the day before (I had to pay for a hotel). I got to the training center around 8:15 which I definitely recommend going early (you won’t be bored). When I got there I was with a small group that got there at the same time and we checked in with 2 recruiters one by one showing our passports and getting name tags. Then they took us down stairs where we got separated into 4 different groups of about 8-10. We did a super easy writing assignment then you sit and chat with your group. Make sure you’re chatting with people and ALWAYS be smiling. Like I mean always. They’re watching!! The people who tried to outshine others did not get a CJO. Be friendly but REAL be confident and outgoing but pay attention to the person who is talking. Don’t talk over people. A girl at my table kept whispering while other people were talking and she did not get a CJO. We did a group project that was so so easy then presented it. Don’t worry it’s not like a school project, it’s more like a game or an icebreaker and it’s fun! After that we had 2 different recruiters come one by one and ask each of us 2 situational questions (answer in star format). Tell a short story and smile while you’re doing it. Once that was over they told us we were all leaving and started calling groups to go to the shuttles. I was honestly confused when it got down to like 15 of us they had us all move in closer and didn’t tell us what was going on at all. They took us all to do the reach test then just started calling us out one by one and it turned out to be for a one on one interview! The lady that interviewed me was so sweet. All the recruiters are flight attendants so they understand your nervousness! She asked me to tell her a little bit about myself and I made it to where we were just having a conversation which is definitely what you should do too! After that she offered me a CJO!! After that we did fingerprints and drug tests and now I’m off to training in a couple weeks! Make sure you dress business PROFESSIONAL. You NEED a blazer. Either pants or a skirt as long as the skirt reaches your knees and you wear tights. Hair should be slicked back if it’s longer than your shoulders. Don’t forget that if you’re there they WANT to hire you!! They aren’t there to scare you and they were very understanding of how nervous we were. They do their best to make sure you get enough time to get comfy before asking you any questions which helped so much! Make friends and make the most of it! I was there from 8:15 AM until almost 3 PM. So make friends!!
