      Flight Attendant Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2024

      Interview

This is my personal experience, and the things I have noticed interviewing. 1. Smile, A LOT. so much your face hurts. 2. Don't be a " know it all" 3. Don't talk over others and cut them off. during the video/ and f2f. You will be weeded out quickly. Ok. so now that's out of the way. here is the tea. I applied In October 2023. immediately a few days later received the assessment to take and invited along for the process. a few days after that, received the invite to participate in the group virtual interview. my group interview had about 28-30 people in there. each person went around one by one introducing yourself, where you're from and what you like to do in your free time. don't add more than what is asked. Hi, im ____ I'm from ____ and I like to ____. Period. You'd be surprised how many people start to ramble, and go on and on or everyone has the exact same hobbies. They all love to walk their dog or whatever. they call your name, and then you are asked a question. describe a time you______. use the star method always when answering. what was the situation? task you were doing. action you took. resolution or outcome. so they can see the whole picture in their head. easy peasy. we all had 1 question. and that concluded our group interview. total took maybe.... 45 minutes. its mostly to see what you look like, how you speak, and if you can follow direction. I was invited to Dallas for the f2f interview. broken into groups. there were questions on the table flipped over, everyone could grab whatever one. when it was your turn, you flipped the card over and read the question. most of the questions were along the lines of " describe how you would handle _____" " tell about a time when you were put in a difficult situation with a co worker, did you go to a supervisor etc" " describe a time you didn't follow protocol " answered our questions. and then we took a group break. another recruiter came to our table and we had another set of cards. flipped over, we all grabbed one and when it was our turn to answer , we read the card we pulled. same thing. " describe when you did this or that" honestly, BE YOURSELF. it is obvious when you are lying. it is obvious you're nervous. BE YOU. that is what they are looking for, you might not even have a situation when this or that took place, so say " if I were to be in this scenario.. I would do ___" anyways. after the group questions the recruiters left the room. they came back and started calling groups. if you are in group 1 and 2. you are going home, and being escorted upstairs to the shuttles. if you are In group 3 or the last however many... the people around you look sharp, smile a lot, and interviewed well. this is a good sign. you are then taken to do the jumpseat test, and height and reach test. after that, one by one you meet with another recruiter being called into their office. they have your resume on hand. and you are then offered a CJO and invited to training. you go do your fingerprints. sign papers. then fly home.
