While we understand that some candidates are unfamiliar with this as the first step in the interview process, we are transparent that this is part of our process within the job posting itself. We believe that candidates should know what to expect from our process and have had success getting to know candidates through this step. I'm sorry that you felt as though you wouldn't have spoken to the manager due to this step. Had you completed this step, you would have potentially moved forward in the process and met not only the hiring manager but other members of the AMA team that you would be working with. Additionally, we do also list our salary ranges in the job postings as well so our hope is that if someone applies, it is because the job is appealing and they've thoroughly looked through the job posting to ensure that it was the right fit for you. Sadly, it appears that you didn't see those parts.
