I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Americaneagle.com (Des Plaines, IL) in Dec 2016
Interview
The process started out great, but took a nosedive shortly thereafter. I applied in the morning for the APM position and received an e-mail to set up a phone interview later that afternoon. The phone interview was fine and it seemed like a great fit. I received correspondence to then set up an in-person interview. This is where things took a turn. I arrived twenty minutes early and was told to fill out a paper application. I found this unusual since they already had my application online but I figured I was early, so not a big deal. I finished the application, then I waited...and waited...and waited. HALF AN HOUR past the scheduled interview time (I've been waiting there for more than forty minutes now) the interviewer finally comes down to greet me. If they knew they were going to be late, a simple phone call to the receptionist to let me know, would have been professional. Aside from the extreme tardiness, the interview, I thought, went very well. There were three people; one of them an HR intern. It might as well have been an individual interview because the only one who spoke was the one who conducted the phone interview. Overall, I thought it went well and I was told that they would contact me within a week. I wait a week, no phone call, no email. I send an e-mail to follow up, nothing for ANOTHER week. Finally, I send a "final follow up email". Later that evening, I receive a generic rejection e-mail. They basically tried to "ghost" me for a week or two, hoping I would just "go away". I was very disappointed with the entire process. It seemed like a great company to work for at first, but the unprofessionalism just can't be overlooked. Stay away!
