Applied on application portal mid October 2021. January 2022: was fast tracked straight to assessment centre (took part in a programme which offered this). Before assessment centre had to complete a inbox exercise which consisted of responding to an email and using the data provided to summarise and make an assumption. There were also interest rate questions. Was quite difficult to complete and I didn’t finish everything, but I don’t think it matters as I still got the job. End of January 2022 Assessment centre: completed a case study in groups of 5 with 2 assessors watching, a general case study where you had to pick 2 clients out of 5. After we were asked about our group choice and if we would’ve chose anything different personally. Then had to present our 3 minute personally pitch and 5 minute technical presentation to 2 candidates and 1 assessor. You prepare this in advance and get asked questions about either after. Then had an interview with one assessor, where I was asked questions about my knowledge on Aon, investment consulting and competency questions. Was given a small case study, a brain teaser and asked to explain something complicated in a simple way. February 2022: 4 days after the assessment centre I received a feedback report and an email scheduling a final interview with a partner. The final interview was a very quick informal chat, asking mainly about my cv and a few behavioural questions. 4 days after that I got a call from the recruiter saying I was successful and was offered the internship. After each interview, I personally asked about 3 questions about the role, the interviewer and investment consulting as a whole. Overall, it was a very long process and took a lot of work, but it paid off in the end.
